For this project I had the chance to work with the Science History Institute located in Old City, Philadelphia for a full exploratory rebranding. This began with visiting the museum itself, taking photos and interviewing many people who work there. From there I developed a new logo for the institute and created a style guide to work from, with a new color palette and supporting typefaces. The warm color palette is pulled from the ideology of actual sparks, and the more abstract idea of sparking and inspiring curiosity. An older style serif typeface pull from the museum’s content and tone, with a finished logo reminiscent of a light bulb filament sparking curiosity, innovation, and discovery.
